A data‑driven addition to the coaching staff
Holy Cross University has named Nick Dicciani as its new assistant coach for the 2026‑27 women's basketball season, a move that underscores the program's commitment to integrating analytics and player development into its competitive strategy.
Dicciani arrives after a season as a coaching associate at Villanova University, where he played a key role in the team's 23‑6 record and secured an NCAA Tournament berth. His work there involved coordinating player development and handling game‑day scouting, experiences he says have sharpened his ability to translate data into actionable insights on the court.
His professional journey also includes a stint as a statistics auditor for the NBA G League, where he verified game statistics for more than three hundred contests, and a period managing live data at league events while supporting player development at the NBA Combine and G League Elite Camp. Prior to that, he served as Director of Operations and Head Basketball Scout for Siegel Sports & Entertainment, crafting player profiles for both NBA prospects and collegiate athletes.
Dicciani holds a degree in sports and recreation management from Temple University, earned in 2023. He has spoken about his belief that a strong analytical foundation can elevate recruiting, performance evaluation and overall team cohesion, goals he hopes to advance within the Holy Cross program.
