A Bold Non-Conference Slate
Vanderbilt’s women’s basketball program revealed its complete non-conference schedule for the 2026-27 season on August 19, outlining a slate that blends home-court comfort with challenging road tests.
The Commodores will host ten games at Memorial Gymnasium, while also playing three neutral-site contests and a single road game, giving fans a varied slate of opponents.
Power-Conference Matchups
Key attractions include games against traditional powerhouses Iowa, Arizona and a rematch with Notre Dame in the SEC/ACC Challenge, the latter echoing last season’s Sweet 16 run that featured a victory over Hannah Hidalgo’s squad.
The season opener is set for November 2 against Lipscomb, marking the start of a campaign that aims to build on recent successes.
Returning Talent
Returning stars Mikayla Blakes, the SEC Player of the Year, and freshman sensation Aubrey Galvan, the SEC Freshman of the Year, are expected to drive the team’s push for the conference title.
Blakes is chasing a historic milestone, aiming to become the first player since Aliyah Boston to capture back-to-back SEC Player of the Year honors, a feat that would cement her place among Vanderbilt’s greats.
Later in the year, the athletic department will release the 2025-26 schedule and accompanying television details, promising further insight into broadcast plans.
