Christian Petry Joins St. Lawrence Baseball Staff as Assistant Coach

Former Liberty League standout brings academic rigor and player-development expertise to the Saints

St. Lawrence University announced this week that Christian Petry will join the Saints baseball program as an assistant coach, bringing a blend of academic distinction and on‑field experience.

A Strategic Addition for the Saints

Petry, a graduate of Hobart College with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and minors in Writing, Management & Entrepreneurial Studies, arrives after a distinguished playing career in the Liberty League.

During his collegiate tenure he started 145 games, compiled a .286 batting average, and stole 57 bases, while posting a .954 fielding percentage that earned him a spot on the All‑Defensive Team and a place on the All‑Liberty League Second Team.

His academic accolades also led to All‑District Academic All‑Member honors, underscoring a commitment to excellence both on and off the diamond.

Prior to this appointment, Petry honed his coaching skills at Great Lakes Baseball Academy and as a baseball operations intern with the Bourne Braves Baseball Club, experiences that have prepared him to shape hitters and infielders.

Head coach Kenny Collins expressed confidence that Petry’s background will elevate the team’s performance, noting that his expertise in player development and camp design aligns perfectly with the program’s goals.
