ETSU Women’s Soccer Poised for Another Strong Season
The East Tennessee State University women’s soccer program entered the new campaign with momentum, having finished the previous season tied for second in the Southern Conference preseason poll. The team returned with an impressive 80 percent scoring rate and logged 88 percent of the minutes from the prior roster, underscoring continuity and depth on both ends of the field.
On the men’s side, the Buccaneers were slated sixth in the same poll, but the addition of senior winger Jaime Carrillo from Texas injected immediate firepower. Carrillo, who netted five goals last year, earned a spot on the All‑SoCon Second Team and is expected to bolster the attack as the squad prepares for its season opener.
Bristol Rhythm’s National Runner‑Up Run
Four Buccaneers also made an impact in the National Premier Soccer League this summer, suiting up for the Bristol Rhythm. The quartet — Koke Gracia, Noé Delmotte, Louie Salkeld and Ulysses Hendriks — played pivotal roles in the club’s run to the national runner‑up match, a performance that culminated in Delmotte receiving the league’s Golden Glove award for outstanding goalkeeping.
The men’s team will test its new‑look lineup against Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina, on August 20, a matchup that promises to showcase the early chemistry between Carrillo and his teammates.
