Preseason All‑SEC Honors
LSU entered the 2025 preseason with a notable presence on the Coaches' All‑SEC team, landing eight players — the third‑largest contingent in the conference behind only Georgia, Texas and Oklahoma.
The Tigers shared the conference lead for first‑team selections, matching Texas with five athletes apiece. Among those honorees were tight end Trey'Dez Green, offensive tackle Jordan Seaton and defensive lineman Princewill Umanmielen, who were all recognized on the first team.
Cornerback DJ Pickett earned a second‑team nod, while safety Ty Benefield and center Braelin Moore were placed on the third team, underscoring the breadth of talent across the roster.
What makes the list especially compelling is the return of key veterans. Whit Weeks, who missed much of the previous season with an injury, and Braelin Moore, a center sidelined by his own setback, are now fully healthy and poised to anchor the squad.
The roster also blends home‑grown prospects with high‑profile transfers. Jordan Seaton arrived from the portal as a top recruit, while Ty Benefield joined from the same pool, adding depth at defensive back. Princewill Umanmielen, who previously played under Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss, contributed to the team’s defensive front before finishing the year as a third‑team All‑SEC selection.
Special teams also received recognition, with punter Grant Chadwick earning a third‑team slot after a solid performance last season, highlighting the program’s well‑rounded excellence.
Head coach Lane Kiffin, in his inaugural year with the Tigers, praised the selections as a testament to the team’s work ethic and depth. "We have a group that can compete at the highest level," he said, emphasizing the blend of experience and fresh talent that defines the 2025 squad.
