Allen, Texas, to Host UAC Basketball Tournaments Through 2029

The United Athletic Conference announced that Allen, Texas, will serve as the host city for its men’s and women’s basketball tournaments for the next three seasons, beginning with the 2026‑27 year. The decision was highlighted by the Credit Union of Texas Event Center, a venue that can accommodate more than 7,000 spectators and is projected to generate roughly $13 million annually for the local economy.

Allen Mayor Chris Schulmeister said the selection reflects years of planning and investment in facilities that can support championship‑level events. He added that the city’s diverse amenities and its position within the DFW Metroplex make it an ideal backdrop for the tournaments.

Jeff Bacon, chief executive of Unisun Sports, expressed enthusiasm about bringing the tournaments to Allen, citing its vibrant atmosphere and the conference’s commitment to delivering the best experience for student‑athletes, coaches and fans. He noted that the venue’s recent upgrades and multipurpose capabilities align with the UAC’s goals.

The newly unveiled tournament logo, designed by Joe Bosack & Co., features a horseshoe that symbolizes Texas resilience and a silver emblem that represents the conference’s strength and determination. The design was praised by organizers as a visual cue of the event’s growing significance.

The UAC comprises nine full member institutions — Abilene Christian University, Austin Peay State University, Central Arkansas University, Eastern Kentucky University, University of North Alabama, Tarleton State University, University of Texas at Arlington and University of West Georgia — as well as an affiliate member in football, the University of West Florida. The 2027 tournaments are scheduled for March 10 through March 14, with brackets and broadcast details to be released later.
