The Portland State Vikings will see every home game streamed live on Rose City Sportsnet throughout the upcoming season, marking a significant partnership that brings the program to viewers both locally and around the world.
A New Chapter for Viking Football
At the helm of the team’s resurgence is first‑year head coach Chris Fisk, who recently sat down with general manager Rashad Floyd — a Portland State Hall of Famer — to discuss how the television agreement reinforces a sense of pride within the university community.
Floyd emphasized that reaching audiences beyond the Pacific Northwest is a priority, noting that the deal not only showcases the Vikings on channel 49 over‑the‑air and channel 13 on cable, but also opens pathways for global fans to follow the team’s progress.
The Vikings will debut two new uniform concepts — Battle Axe and Stormbreaker — designed to signal a fresh era for the program and to give players a distinctive visual identity on the field.
The season opens on Saturday, August 29, when the Vikings host UC Davis at Hillsboro Stadium, a venue that will broadcast the game live on Rose City Sportsnet, available on channel 49 over‑the‑air and channel 13 on cable.
