Sean Snyder, a former college football coach celebrated for his All‑American punting career, has accepted the position of executive director for football at the Sports Performance Hub, a facility situated just outside Homestead, Florida. He expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to shape the next generation of specialists in the kicking game.
Snyder’s journey in the sport began under the tutelage of his father, Bill Snyder, a Hall of Fame coach, and later saw him serve as an assistant at Kansas State before stints at USC, the University of Illinois and the University of Kansas. His playing days as a punter at Kansas State earned him All‑American honors, and he subsequently contributed to special‑teams units at several Power Five programs.
In the Midwest, Snyder founded a private training program for high‑school age kickers and punters, enlisting former K‑State punter Devin Anctil as a collaborator. The venture attracted investment from former K‑State kicker Martin Grammatica, who is now a stakeholder in the Sports Performance Hub where Snyder will expand his work.
The move to Florida required Snyder to sell properties in Manhattan and Stillwater, Oklahoma, and to relocate his family to Homestead. The decision was driven by a desire to create a permanent base from which he could mentor young athletes and develop a comprehensive football education pathway.
The academy he is building will operate similarly to IMG Academy, offering a blend of academic coursework and high‑level athletic training. Snyder will personally coach kickers and punters, a role he has described as the most rewarding aspect of his career.
Designing the Academy
The forthcoming facility will feature state‑of‑the‑art training equipment, classroom spaces, and a curriculum that integrates sports science with core subjects. By housing the program in a setting that mirrors the structure of established academies, Snyder aims to attract talent from across the country.
Snyder’s primary motivation is to provide mentorship that extends beyond the field, ensuring that participants receive both academic preparation and elite football instruction. He believes that a dedicated environment for specialists will fill a gap in the current development landscape.
