Tanner Daniels, the longtime captain of Hobart College's men's hockey team, has inked a professional contract with Dogs de Cholet, a storied franchise competing in France's elite Division I league.
Reuniting with a Champion
The partnership with former teammate Matthew Iasenza adds a narrative twist, as the two Continentals look to build on last year's French title and push for a fourth championship together.
During his four‑year tenure at Hobart, Daniels helped the Continentals capture three national championships in just four seasons, a testament to his leadership and skill on the ice.
His statistical footprint is equally impressive: he finished the season with 37 points, comprising 16 goals and 21 assists, and earned a 2026 AHCA All‑America East second‑team nod, ranking 39th nationally in points per game and 18th in power‑play efficiency.
Beyond the numbers, Daniels leaves Hobart as the program's career leader in games played and among the top tier in assists and points, having contributed to a historic 116‑win stretch that included a perfect 68‑0 home record.
Daniels is the fifth player from the Hobart roster to make the jump to France within the past two years, joining a growing list of alumni such as Mavrick Goyer, Austin Mourar, Cooper Swift and others who have tested their talents abroad.
Head coach Mark Taylor expressed confidence that Daniels will be a perfect fit for Cholet, citing his work ethic and championship pedigree.
