A Veteran Presence Joins the Roster
The Alaska Nanooks have announced the signing of forward Jack Rogers, a fifth‑year transfer who brings a blend of size, experience and offensive skill to the program. Rogers, a 6‑foot‑3, 201‑pound right‑handed shot from East Northport, New York, joins the team after four seasons with the St. Cloud State Huskies of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference.
During his collegiate career Rogers accumulated 67 points in 54 games with the Steinbach Pistons of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League before establishing himself at St. Cloud State, where he helped the Huskies capture the NCHC Tournament title in 2022‑23. He posted eight points in 34 games that season and added six more points in 29 appearances during the 2023‑24 campaign, including four goals.
Coach Erik Largen’s Assessment
Head coach Erik Largen praised Rogers’s maturity, describing him as a responsible forward who excels in contact and brings valuable leadership to a young roster. “Jack’s experience and work ethic will be instrumental as we build toward a competitive season,” Largen said.
The Nanooks plan to announce additional signings in the coming weeks as they finalize a lineup that aims to contend for a playoff berth. Rogers’s addition marks a significant step in shaping a roster that blends youthful talent with seasoned veterans.
