The University of Arizona has released its 2027 baseball slate, a schedule that promises a heavy load of home dates and a lineup of challenging opponents.
A total of 30 games will be played at Hi Corbett Field, the team's historic home in Tucson, giving the Wildcats a substantial advantage as they aim to rebound from a disappointing 2026 campaign that nonetheless featured a College World Series appearance.
The season will open with a marquee matchup at the Shriners Children's College Showdown in Arlington, Texas, where Arizona will meet defending national champion Oklahoma on February 19.
Following that, the Wildcats will travel to Globe Life Field to face Virginia and Clemson in their first two games, setting the tone for a demanding early stretch.
Key matchups and early‑season tests
Back in Tucson, the home opener is slated for February 23 against UNLV, after which the team will head to Los Angeles for a three‑game series at UCLA, a venue that hosted the 2026 NCAA Tournament final.
Big 12 competition begins in earnest with a March 19‑21 series at Baylor, and the first conference home series will unfold from March 25‑27 against Utah, a team that captured the conference title in 2026.
Additional home series are scheduled against TCU in early April, Oklahoma State later in May, West Virginia in early May, and a showdown with Kansas in late May, rounding out a demanding league slate.
Beyond the regular season, Arizona will host fall exhibition games, including an October 2 matchup with Naranjeros de Hermosillo at Kino Stadium, providing a preview of the talent that will be available next spring.
A key storyline involves pitcher Garrett Hicks, who returns for his third year and is expected to anchor the rotation after posting a 3.20 ERA and six saves in 21 appearances last season.
With a blend of experienced arms and a challenging schedule, the Wildcats hope to translate their preseason preparations into a strong postseason push.
