Kansas Baseball Announces 2027 Schedule and Reflects on Historic 2026 Season

A look at the upcoming slate, tournament locations, and the team's record‑breaking performance

The Big 12 Conference alongside Kansas Baseball unveiled the 2027 league schedule, confirming a 30‑game slate that balances home dates at Hoglund Ballpark with away trips across the conference.

The schedule kicks off with a three‑game series against Arizona State at Hoglund Ballpark from March 19‑21, and will close the regular season with a road series at Arizona from May 20‑22.

Home matchups will also feature contests versus Texas Tech, Cincinnati, Oklahoma State and Kansas State, giving fans a chance to see the Jayhawks face familiar rivals on their own turf.

On the road, Kansas will travel to West Virginia, Baylor, UCF, Utah and Arizona, testing the team against a varied slate of opponents.

Frisco Classic and Tournament Details

In addition to the conference slate, the Jayhawks are slated to compete in the Frisco Classic, where they will meet elite programs such as UC Irvine and Southern Mississippi from March 5‑7.

The Big 12 Tournament is set to remain in Surprise, Arizona, running from May 25‑29, 2027, preserving the venue that has hosted the event in recent years.

The announcement comes on the heels of a breakout 2026 season in which Kansas posted a 45‑18 record, including a conference mark of 22‑8, capturing its first regular‑season Big 12 title since 1949.

That campaign also marked the only Division I team to finish with at least 45 overall wins, 20 conference victories and 20 road wins, and it earned the program its second straight NCAA Tournament appearance.

Coach Dan Fitzgerald highlighted the team’s ambition to pit itself against top competition, noting that the upcoming schedule provides ample opportunities to measure progress against programs like UC Irvine and Southern Mississippi.

Looking ahead, the Jayhawks aim to build on their recent success, using the 2027 slate to fine‑tune their roster and pursue another deep run in the NCAA Tournament.
