Maryland’s women’s basketball program unveiled its 2026‑27 non‑conference schedule, a blend of international travel and domestic matchups that promises early‑season excitement.
The campaign kicks off with an overseas contest against South Carolina at the Adidas Center in Paris, France, before the team returns home for a five‑game stretch that begins with George Mason on November 8.
A Thanksgiving Day showdown with Towson adds a local rivalry, while the schedule also includes games against Columbia, Coppin State, Morgan State, Monmouth and the in‑state opponent Towson later in the season.
Head coach Brenda Freese, who previously guided Ball State and famously upset Maryland in 2000, returns to lead the Terps, recalling the program’s perfect 10‑0 record against non‑conference foes from last season.
Towson’s head coach Laura Harper, an alumna of Maryland’s 2006 national‑championship team, will face her former program, adding a narrative layer to the matchup.
The season will close with contests against UConn, Lehigh, Mount St. Mary’s and UMBC in December, rounding out a schedule that mixes competitive challenges with historic connections.
