Michigan State’s Munnsters Revamp Ticketing with Membership Model

New $75 per-season access aims to broaden student involvement as the hockey program celebrates recent dominance

Michigan State University’s Munnsters student hockey section is rolling out a membership‑based ticketing system for the 2026‑27 season, replacing the old one‑time fee that granted access to all home games.

Membership model marks a strategic pivot

Under the new arrangement, students can purchase tickets for individual games during a September selection window, with returning members able to buy on August 25 and the broader student body on August 26. Each membership costs $75 and includes an official Munnsters jersey.

The program also features a points system: every ticket purchase and game attendance adds to a personal score that determines priority seating, echoing the way Izzone members earn privileges.

Section leaders Kailee Chambers and Madison Vollmer have described the limited ticket pool as a “hope and a prayer,” emphasizing the high demand and the excitement of finally securing a spot in the storied crowd.

Athletics officials say the shift is intended to “create opportunities for more students to be part of the Munnsters,” a goal that aligns with the section’s rising national profile.

Coach Adam Nightingale’s tenure has already delivered three consecutive Big Ten regular‑season titles and two straight tournament championships, propelling the team into the upper echelons of college hockey and lending weight to the new ticketing approach.
