Le Moyne College opened its men’s soccer season with a narrow 1‑0 victory over cross‑town rival Canisius College on Saturday night, handing the Griffins their first defeat of the campaign.
The decisive moment arrived in the 54th minute when Rhys Allport slipped a low strike past the Canisius keeper, sending the Dolphins ahead and preserving the slim lead for the remainder of the match.
Early Dominance
Le Moyne controlled possession throughout, out‑shooting the Griffins 6‑3 and registering four shots on target, a clear indication of the Dolphins’ early attacking intent.
Between the posts, Wyatt Dupell preserved the lead with a single save in the second half, while Preston Harold turned away three attempts to secure a shutout for the Griffins.
