The Roster Unveiled
USA Basketball revealed a 12‑player lineup for the August 2026 men’s World Cup qualifying window, a mix of proven performers and emerging prospects.
Eight athletes carry prior USA Basketball experience, among them Pedro Bradshaw, Kevon Harris, Mike James and Orlando Robinson, who all saw action in the 2027 FIBA Men’s World Cup Qualifying Window 3.
Four newcomers — Jaron Blossomgame, Darius Brown, DeJon Jarreau and Dillon Jones — join the pool, bringing new energy to the mix.
Coaching Staff and Scouting
Veteran NBA head coach Terry Stotts will lead the side, supported by assistants Clay Moser and Marlon Garnett.
Scout Jonathan Yim, whose career spans NBA, NBA G League, NCAA and international stints, will provide strategic insight from the bench.
Miami Training Camp
The team will convene in Miami from August 20 to August 24 for a focused preparation period before heading abroad.
During the camp, players will fine‑tune chemistry and adapt to the rigors of international competition.
Upcoming Fixtures
Following the camp, the United States opens its schedule with a game in Santiago, Chile, on August 27, and a home clash against Colombia in Washington, D.C., on August 31.
These matches mark the first of six qualifying windows that will run from November 2025 through March 2027.
Qualifying Landscape
After the opening round, the USA posted a 5‑1 record in Group A and now sits second in Group E behind Brazil, ahead of the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Colombia and Chile.
The top three teams in Group E, plus the best fourth‑place finisher, will earn spots at the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Doha, Qatar.
A Legacy of Success
With a 24‑6 record in qualifying and two recent FIBA World Cup titles (2010, 2014), the United States enters the cycle with a winning pedigree and a clear objective: finish atop Group E and book a place in Doha.
