Phoenix police have released photographs of four individuals who were on the field when a 19‑year‑old was violently attacked during a community soccer game on August 6.
The victim, identified as Tumusifu Bahati Bazirake, was left unresponsive after the assault and later died from his injuries after being taken to a hospital.
The images were made public on August 20 as part of an ongoing effort to gather information, though investigators have not named the people shown as suspects.
The family of the deceased has started a GoFundMe campaign titled Help Lay Bahati Tumusifu to Rest which has already raised more than $10,000 to cover funeral costs and support grieving relatives.
Community Response and Fundraising Efforts
The campaign was launched by the victim’s father, Nsamzumuhire Bizirake, and reflects the deep emotional toll the loss has taken on the family and the broader neighborhood.
Police are urging anyone who witnessed the attack or who may have additional footage to come forward, directing tips to the Silent Witness hotline at 480‑WITNESS (480‑948‑6377) or 480‑TESTIGO (480‑837‑8446) for Spanish‑speaking callers.
While the photos were taken at a community field, authorities have not confirmed that the location depicted is exactly where the assault occurred, leaving the investigation ongoing.
