Thompson struck first when Trent Seaborn connected with Tanner Ehmen on a 7‑0 touchdown pass, capping an opening drive that put the Wildcats ahead 7‑0.
The Red Devils answered with an 80‑yard rushing touchdown by Zion Mabry, tying the game at 7‑7 before Seaborn’s 16‑yard strike to Darion Mosely restored the lead at 14‑7.
A quick 43‑yard pass from Bobby Coleman to Braylen Averett knotted the score again at 14‑14, setting the stage for a dramatic second half.
Second Half Domination
Thompson’s offense exploded after the break, beginning with a 28‑yard rushing touchdown by CJ Cowley that pushed the lead to 21‑14.
The Wildcats then orchestrated an 80‑yard drive that culminated in a score, extending the advantage to 27‑14.
A 39‑yard connection between Seaborn and Dedric Kimbrough added another touchdown, bringing the score to 34‑14.
An interception by Coleman halted Central‑Phenix City’s momentum, and Thompson capped the game with a final score of 41‑14.
Seaborn finished with 331 passing yards and four touchdowns on 18‑of‑27 attempts, while Cowley contributed 131 total yards and two scores.
Bobby Coleman led the Red Devils with 269 passing yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and Averett topped the receiving chart with 108 yards and a score.

Thompson will host the 2025 6A champion Clay‑Chalkville next week, while Central‑Phenix City travels to face Pell City on the road.
