The Oyster Bay Town Council has announced a new series of co‑ed adult sports programs that will begin this fall at the Hicksville Athletic Center.

Fall Adult Leagues Launch at Hicksville Athletic Center

Starting September 27, residents can enroll in basketball, badminton and volleyball leagues that are open to anyone aged 18 and older and run for ten weeks.

Basketball sessions are scheduled for Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evenings, with a resident fee of $40 and a non‑resident fee of $75.

Badminton will offer two separate sessions with multiple weekly time slots, priced at $90 for residents and $125 for non‑residents.

Volleyball programs are split into two sessions with varied weekly schedules, also costing $90 for residents and $125 for non‑residents, and they commence on September 28.

Registration for residents opens on September 2 at 5:00 p.m., while non‑residents can register beginning September 9 at 9:00 a.m., provided they upload proof of residency and a valid ID.

Sign‑ups are handled through the town’s official sports portal at oysterbaytown.com/sports, where participants can select their preferred sport, session and time slot.

The council has noted that class schedules may be adjusted and that make‑up sessions will be offered if any class is cancelled.

Councilmember Tom Hand, who oversees the initiative, said the programs are intended to provide structured training alongside social opportunities for the community’s adult population.
