Carroll College's men's soccer squad opened its 2026 campaign on Saturday, battling Dordt (Iowa) to a 3-3 draw that left both teams with a 0-0-1 record.
A Fast-Start to the Campaign
The contest exploded for six goals in the opening half, with Dordt striking first just 13 seconds in, only for redshirt senior Pedro Teixeira to level the scores a half-minute later.
Midway through the half, returning scorer Felix Billard put Carroll ahead, but senior Pablo Martin answered before the break to knot the game at 2-2.
Carroll regained the lead when Pedro Rivera found the net just past the hour mark, pushing the Saints to a 3-2 advantage.
Late Drama Seals the Draw
However, a defensive misstep in the 63rd minute allowed Ike D’Silva to equalise for Dordt, sealing a 3-3 finish.
The rapid back-and-forth scoring underscored the competitiveness of both squads and set an energetic tone for the remainder of the season.
Looking Ahead
Both teams now turn their attention to upcoming fixtures against Providence, hoping to convert the lessons from this high-octane draw into wins.
