A Transformative Renovation
UCF recently completed a $90 million renovation of Roth Tower, the centerpiece of its football stadium, funded through Orange County’s Tourist Development Tax.
The project more than tripled the available club area, growing it from 4,400 to 15,560 square feet, and introduced premium sky suites that can host up to 12 guests with refrigerators, charging stations and a cash bar.
New broadcast booths have been added alongside a dedicated space for Spanish‑language radio announcements, enhancing the stadium’s multimedia capabilities.
Athletic director Terry Mohajir said the upgrades are comparable to those at Power Five schools, emphasizing revenue diversification and an improved fan experience.
The renovated facility is designed to host up to ten simultaneous events, ranging from wedding receptions to sales seminars, allowing the venue to generate income beyond game days.
Looking ahead, UCF is seeking an additional $119 million in county funding to further expand its athletic infrastructure, including a soccer‑specific stadium, extra seating and upgraded broadcast equipment.
The initiative reflects the university’s ambition to position itself as the premier collegiate partner in the Orlando region and to shed its reputation as a ‘sleepy little school.’
