Siena University will bring its basketball community to the historic Saratoga Race Course on August 26, where fans can mingle with the program’s new leadership.
A Meet‑and‑Greet at the Grandstand
The one‑hour gathering, scheduled from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., will feature Nevada Smith, the newly appointed men’s head coach, and Terry Primm, who now leads the women’s team. Attendees will also have the chance to meet current Siena players, creating a rare opportunity for direct interaction between supporters and the roster.
NYRA, the organizer of the event, highlighted the partnership with Siena University in a statement from Vice President John D’Argenio, who praised the Racing Association’s role in showcasing the university’s basketball program at a premier venue.
In addition to the fan meet‑and‑greet, the occasion will serve as a ticket sales hub for the team’s upcoming preseason matchup against Syracuse, giving supporters a first look at the schedule and a chance to secure seats early.
The event underscores Siena’s ambition to celebrate its basketball heritage while leveraging Saratoga’s storied atmosphere, blending collegiate sport with the excitement of a major racing venue.
