A brief coaching legacy
Matthew Hardaway announced his resignation from the West Creek boys basketball program in August 2026, bringing to a close a three‑year stint that reshaped the Coyotes’ recent history.
During his tenure the team compiled a 41‑37 overall record, highlighted by a 2024 season in which the Coyotes captured their first district championship since 2011.
The following year the squad posted its best record in school history, finishing 17‑12 and advancing to the Region 7‑4A quarterfinals before falling to Rossview.
Star guard Kameron Bowers emerged as a cornerstone of that success, averaging 18.9 points, 5.7 assists and 3.1 steals per game during his junior and senior seasons.
Bowers was recognized as first‑team All‑Montgomery County for two consecutive years and earned All‑District 14‑4A honors both seasons, underscoring his impact on the program.
