Gadsden State Community College is set to run its 2026 Fall Instructional League for high school baseball players, a five‑week developmental program that blends college‑level instruction with live competition.
Schedule and Structure
Sessions will take place at the Gadsden State Baseball and Softball Complex from October 20 through November 19, with separate time slots for eighth‑through‑tenth graders on Tuesdays and eleventh‑through‑twelfth graders on Thursdays, each running from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The curriculum emphasizes fundamentals — dynamic stretching, arm care, throwing mechanics, and position‑specific drills — delivered by the college’s coaching staff and current Cardinal players.
Hands‑On Development
Participants will rotate through modified scrimmages that allow coaches to give real‑time feedback on positioning, situational awareness and game management, while also spending time in the batting cages and on the field for skill‑building exercises.
Each grade division will field two to three teams of 12 to 14 players, using a rotating schedule that alternates between game play and focused drill work.
Registration remains open until October 15 or until all spots are filled, carrying a $450 fee that covers instruction, facility use and program materials.
Prospective players must submit a current athletic physical and a signed participation waiver before their enrollment is confirmed, and they are required to bring a glove, bat, helmet, baseball pants, appropriate footwear and a water bottle; catchers must provide their own gear.
While the league is designed to sharpen abilities and expose athletes to a collegiate training environment, organizers stress that participation does not guarantee future recruitment or roster placement with Gadsden State Baseball.
Weather‑related adjustments will be communicated by the coaching staff as needed, and questions can be directed to head coach and athletic director Blake Lewis at blewis@gadsdenstate.edu.
