A Throwback on the Field
Baylor University will unveil a nostalgic uniform when the Bears take the field against Colorado on September 26 at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas. The kit revives the iconic bear‑paw motif that graced the team from 1982 through 1992, featuring the paw emblazoned on the shoulder pads for the first time in more than three decades.
The design also showcases the letters “B‑A‑Y‑L‑O‑R” across the chest, a visual echo of the era when Hall of Fame coach Grant Teaff led the program. The throwback look is intended to bridge past and present, giving current players a tangible link to the traditions that shaped Baylor football.
Honoring a Legacy
The ceremony will pay tribute to Grant Teaff, whose tenure produced some of the school’s most memorable seasons, and will specifically recognize the 1991 Bears, a team that defeated Colorado in a pivotal matchup. Former star Santana Dotson, a Hall of Famer, expressed pride that the uniform once again reflects the style that defined that generation.
Jeff Ireland, who famously kicked the game‑winning field goal in that 1991 victory, will be among the alumni highlighted during the event, underscoring the lasting impact of that era on today’s roster and fan base.
Tickets and Anticipation
Season tickets and single‑game tickets for the September 26 contest are now on sale, inviting supporters to witness the blend of history and competition. The game promises not only a contest against a strong Colorado squad but also a celebration of Baylor’s rich football heritage.
