The series stands tied 3‑2 in favor of the Cougars, who have won the last two meetings, making the upcoming contest a pivotal moment in the rivalry.
Just days earlier, SIUE posted a 3‑0 victory over Austin Peay, showcasing both offensive flair and defensive solidity. Goalkeeper Sarah Bozeman recorded six saves and earned her first shutout of the season, while midfielder Claire Nieroda was named Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week after contributing a goal and three assists.
The win also saw Olivia Watt and Tori Bockstadter score their first goals of the campaign, adding depth to the attack.
With the home stretch completed, the Cougars will travel to Drake University the following Sunday, aiming to carry the momentum forward into the next phase of the schedule.
