Ohio State University has officially added Argentine forward Lee Aaliya to its 2026‑27 men’s basketball roster, a move that underscores the program’s intent to blend domestic talent with seasoned international experience.
Aaliya, a 6‑foot‑9 wing, arrives after five years competing in Spain’s Liga ACB, where he logged 18.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while shooting close to 60 % from the field for UCAM Murcia.
His résumé also includes a Final Four appearance with Atenas de Córdoba in the South American Basketball Champions League, further cementing his reputation as a reliable scorer and rebounder on the world stage.
Eligibility Still Under Review
The NCAA has yet to grant Aaliya full eligibility; he may practice with the team but will be barred from competition until the governing body issues a final determination.
Head coach Jake Diebler expressed enthusiasm about the newcomer, noting Aaliya’s energetic playstyle, athleticism and physicality as assets that could help the Buckeyes re‑establish themselves among the conference’s elite.
