Dansville/Way-Co Football Rejoins Livingston County League for 2026 Season

Junior star Ethan Bauer leads a revamped roster as the team returns to Class B competition

Return to Class B

The Dansville/Way-Co football program, which last competed without a formal classification, is set to re-enter the Livingston County league for the 2026 season, restoring its place in Class B competition.

The eight-game schedule pits the team against longtime rivals such as Livonia, Newark/Marion and the perennial powerhouse Le Roy/Cal-Mum, while also featuring matchups with Haverling, Hornell/Arkport/Canaseraga, Alexander/Pembroke and Wellsville/Genesee Valley-Belfast.

Junior running back Ethan Bauer, who shattered the program’s single-season rushing record with 910 yards and eight touchdowns as a sophomore, will anchor the offense. His performance has attracted interest from RPI, the University of Rochester and Alfred University.

Head coach Chad Pieri, now in his fifth year at the helm, will rely on a core of returning starters including Cole Hanggi, Clay Rigdon, Adrian Burr, Dawson Stephens, Kam Lantz and Mason Forrester, all of whom contributed to the team’s .500 finish last season.

Community excitement is building as the revived schedule promises marquee contests and a chance for the program to chase its first Section V title since the early 1990s for Dansville and 2013 for WayCo.
