If the Tigers secure a playoff berth, they could meet the Florida Gators in the Gator Bowl on December 30, a matchup that would renew a rivalry last seen more than six decades ago. Alternatively, a non‑playoff finish could steer Clemson toward the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, where they would face the Utah Utes, a team they have never encountered because of previous conference restrictions.
Early-Season Tests
The first test arrives on September 5, when Clemson travels to Baton Rouge to take on LSU at Tiger Stadium. The game is slated for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ABC and is viewed as a potential upset that could boost the Tigers’ résumé early in the season. Just two weeks later, on October 3, Clemson will host the Miami Hurricanes at Memorial Stadium, a venue that will be packed for a primetime showdown against a program ranked No. 7 in the preseason polls.
Beyond those marquee matchups, the schedule also includes contests against Georgia Southern, North Carolina, California, Charleston Southern, Virginia Tech, Florida State, Syracuse, Georgia Tech and South Carolina.
