Nasir Anderson, a 6‑foot‑3, 215‑pound five‑star point guard, has placed the Tennessee Volunteers among his top ten prospects for the 2027 recruiting class, underscoring the program’s growing appeal on the national stage.
A Strategic Target for the Volunteers
Ranked No. 8 overall and No. 3 among point guards by 247Sports, and similarly positioned by Rivals, Anderson brings a rare blend of size, skill and two‑way versatility that aligns with Tennessee’s recent emphasis on guard development.
The Savannah, Georgia native, who will spend his senior year at Prolific Prep in Florida, has been limited this summer by injury, yet his film shows a player capable of dictating tempo, creating scoring opportunities and defending multiple positions.
Tennessee’s coaching staff is leveraging the connection with fellow target Malachi Jordan, a recent transfer from Arizona’s Dream City Christian, to strengthen its pitch, while also courting other elite prospects such as Antonio Pemberton, Micah Gordon, Justin Wise, Chris Brown, Davis Cochran and others through scheduled official visits this fall.
Although the Volunteers have yet to secure a commitment in the 2027 cycle, the program’s scholarship landscape is expanding, bolstered by anticipated NBA Draft entries and transfers, creating room for additional talent to join the roster.
