The Wright State Raiders will kick off their 2026 men’s soccer campaign at home on August 23, welcoming Belmont to Alumni Field for a 6 p.m. showdown.
The match marks the eighth meeting in a series that favors Wright State, who hold a 5‑1‑1 edge, but the Raiders are still looking to rebound after a 5‑2 road defeat to Bowling Green that ended their 2025 campaign with a 2‑13‑1 record.
A Revamped Roster
This season the squad welcomes 19 newcomers, including ten freshmen, and boasts a blend of domestic talent from nine states and international students spanning five continents, featuring Horizon League All‑League honorees such as Henry Hutchinson and Roman Kedgley.
The team also includes standout performers like Alessandro Malterer, a sportsmanship finalist, and a mix of seasoned veterans and promising newcomers eager to rewrite the program’s recent narrative.
Fans can attend the home opener for as little as $10, with all ticket sales directly supporting the program’s growth and travel expenses.
After the Belmont encounter, the Raiders head to Eastern Illinois on August 27 for a 5 p.m. road test in Charleston, aiming to build momentum early in the season.
