Eastern Illinois University announced that Marqus McGlothan, head coach of the women's basketball program, has secured transfer guard Janyah Bohanon for the upcoming 2026‑27 campaign. Bohanon, a 6‑foot‑0 guard hailing from Cleveland, Ohio, will don the Panthers' colors as the sixth new face on the roster.
A Journey Through Multiple Programs
Bohanon's college career has spanned stints at Buffalo and Howard University, where she honed her skills as a reliable scorer and rebounder. At Buffalo she averaged 5.5 points and 2.9 rebounds per game, reaching double‑digit scoring on four occasions, highlighted by a season‑high 13 points. Prior to that, she contributed 3.4 points per game as a sophomore at Howard, following a freshman year that saw her post 2.7 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.
Before college, Bohanon dominated at Warrensville Heights High School, earning All‑Conference honors while averaging 19.6 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. She helped lead her team to a 22‑3 record and a Division III Northeast 4 District Championship, showcasing the leadership and competitiveness that McGlothan believes will translate to the collegiate level.
