Fall Camp Preview: Alabama’s 2026 Depth Chart
With fall camp scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Alabama’s coaching staff has unveiled a projected depth chart that outlines the personnel battles expected to shape the 2026 season under head coach Kalen DeBoer, now in his third year at the helm.
Quarterback Competition
The quarterback position is perhaps the most scrutinized, as sophomore Keelon Russell and senior Austin Mack trade starter reps. Russell’s electrifying performance in the recent A‑Day scrimmage has earned him early favor, yet Mack’s wealth of game experience guarantees a tightly contested battle.
Running Backs and RB Depth
At running back, Daniel Hill is listed as the projected starter, but rising junior EJ Crowell, who missed spring practice due to injury but is now fully healthy, possesses the highest upside and could challenge Hill for the top spot.
Coaches have emphasized that depth at the position will be tested throughout camp, with several backup backs looking to make impressions that could reshape the rotation.
Wide Receiver Battle
The receiving corps returns its top three starters — Ryan Coleman‑Williams, Lotzeir Brooks and Cederian Morgan — while newcomers such as Noah Rogers and sophomore Derek Meadows, along with transfer Jayvin James, are slated to compete for the remaining slots.
Early drills suggest a deep pool of talent, as the coaching staff has highlighted the potential for multiple rotations to keep defenses guessing.
Tight End and Offensive Line
At tight end, Kaleb Edwards and Josh Ford are projected to start, with Ford expected to serve as a pivotal playmaker in the passing game.
