The Skyridge High School Falcons opened their season with a narrow defeat, but a swift adjustment on both sides of the ball set the stage for a turnaround.
In their second meeting, the Falcons faced the Orem Tigers and found themselves trailing 14-7 deep into the third quarter, a deficit that seemed to test their early‑season resolve.
A Fourth‑Quarter Turnaround
Quarterback Jagger Fountaine ignited the comeback, delivering a 43‑yard touchdown pass to receiver Omarian Sanders at the 9:17 mark of the fourth quarter to knot the score at 14‑14.
Just minutes later, running back Beckham Bennett powered through for a 4‑yard touchdown run with 3:35 left on the clock, giving Skyridge a 21‑14 lead.
The defensive unit also contributed, as Madden Christensen’s 30‑yard interception return for a score briefly put Orem ahead, but the Falcons’ offense answered with the decisive drive.
Overall, the team’s defensive performance and strategic adjustments paid off, improving their record to 1‑1 and showcasing the potential for a stronger campaign.
The victory was achieved despite a taxing schedule that saw the game moved from Friday night to Saturday to accommodate Orem’s travel from Hawaii after their earlier matchup at Kamehameha High.
