A Commanding Start
The University of Wisconsin Badgers traveled to Oakland on Sunday to open their season, posting a 5-0 victory that underscored their offensive firepower.
Wisconsin struck first in the sixth minute when Markie Hrvojevic slipped a low drive past the Oakland keeper, opening the scoring. Just two minutes later, Matthew Zachemski doubled the lead with a swift finish after a quick transition.
The momentum continued as Julian Kuhr added a third goal in the 22nd minute, and Roman Eisa extended the advantage to 4-0 just before halftime with a well‑placed strike in the 45th minute. Emile Kisse capped the rout in the 77th minute, sealing a 5-0 result.
Between the onslaught, goalkeeper Cole Thompson was busy, making four saves from 20 shots faced, ensuring the Badgers kept a clean sheet despite Oakland’s attempts.
Oakland managed only five shots on goal, none finding the net, while the Badgers controlled possession and created numerous chances.
