Cruz Piland was the offensive catalyst, netting a hat trick that included a goal in the 28th minute after missing an early penalty kick. His third strike came in the second half, capping a dominant performance.
Ryder Mortensen added the team's second goal, while a flurry of substitutions kept the lineup fresh throughout the contest. Coach Mark Nowak praised the blend of experience and maturity that has defined the squad this season.
The roster features ten seniors and nine juniors, a mix that Nowak says provides the right balance of skill and drive. The players are acutely aware of last year's semifinal loss to North Kitsap and are determined to avoid a repeat.
