Head coach Sammie Coates, a former Auburn standout and NFL draft pick, took the reins in 2024 and set about rebuilding the program from the ground up, first with a 28‑player roster and now with a full 60‑player squad.
The game began with Greensboro striking first, leading 14‑0, but the Eagles answered with a series of turnovers that swung momentum. By halftime they held a 20‑14 advantage, and the second half saw three more touchdowns.
Coates, who has emphasized player development over the narrative of the streak, called the win a "blessing" for the work done in the offseason. He praised the team’s consistency and the culture he’s trying to instill.
Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to chase a two‑game winning streak when they face East Limestone High on Friday, hoping to carry the momentum into the remainder of the season.
