The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 Trophy Tour has kicked off a series of vibrant stops across Germany, bringing the coveted trophy to five major cities in a matter of days.
Starting in Cologne on August 27, the tour will then move to Bonn, Frankfurt, Munich and finally Berlin, where it will culminate in a celebration that runs through September 5, just days before the World Cup opens on September 4.
Community Spirit and Mascot Magic
HoopBus, the mobile platform behind the initiative, is transporting the trophy and staging a range of community activities, from basketball camps for youngsters to skill demonstrations and merchandise giveaways that invite locals to get hands‑on with the sport.
Adding a splash of colour, Bearlina, the official mascot, will make surprise appearances at each location, turning each city stop into a mini‑festival of fun and basketball culture.
The tour also showcases the 2021‑unveiled trophy, a symbol of the growing prominence of women's basketball, while partnerships with Bayern Munich and local grassroots programmes underline the commitment to nurture talent and broaden participation.
Fans can look forward to events such as the Telekom Grassroots Summer Basketball Camp in Bonn and the INTERSPORT City Centre Visit in Frankfurt, both designed to blend competition with community spirit.
Beyond the trophy circuit, the tour serves as a catalyst for interest ahead of the September 4 start of the World Cup in Berlin, promising a week of interactive experiences that will keep the excitement alive across the country.
