A nationwide fan experience
FIBA, the international governing body for basketball, has partnered with HoopBus, a mobile fan‑engagement platform, to bring the 2026 Women’s Basketball World Cup trophy on a German roadshow that will culminate in Berlin just days before the tournament opens.
The tour kicks off on August 27 in Cologne, then moves to Bonn on August 28, Frankfurt on August 29, and Munich on August 30‑31 before arriving in Berlin on September 1. The trophy will remain on public display in the German capital through September 5, giving fans a final chance to see it before the competition begins on September 4.
Each stop will feature community‑focused activations, including free merchandise giveaways, interactive skill challenges, and surprise appearances by Bearlina, the tournament’s official mascot. Local influencers and celebrities are slated to join the events, adding star power to the festivities.
HoopBus will handle the logistics of transporting the trophy and coordinating the on‑ground activities, leveraging its mobile platform to reach a wide audience across the five cities. The partnership underscores a shared goal of growing interest in women’s basketball and encouraging grassroots participation.
Beyond the trophy tour, the initiative aims to highlight the history and heroes of the sport, celebrating the tournament’s legacy since the current trophy was unveiled in 2021. By blending fan‑centric experiences with high‑profile visibility, FIBA and HoopBus hope to inspire the next generation of players and supporters.
