The first half belonged to the Hokies, who built a 2‑0 lead by the break after striking early in the 29th minute and extending their advantage before the interval.
A Late Surge Secures the Draw
After the break, Maryland rallied. Jolie Farmer, already the team’s leading scorer, found the net in the 65th minute, marking her fourth goal of the campaign and narrowing the gap.
Just minutes later, freshman forward Ella Petry, a recent South Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, recorded her first collegiate goal in the 71st minute, leveling the match at 2‑2.
Goalkeeper Faith Luckey was the last line of defense, making four saves and producing a dramatic stop in the final seconds that preserved the draw.
The result extends Maryland’s unbeaten streak to three games for the second consecutive season, and the Terps now turn their attention to a road matchup with Navy on August 27.
