The University of Connecticut men’s basketball team is set to navigate a six‑game nonconference stretch that begins on November 15 and runs through December 12, a stretch that will test the Huskies against some of the nation’s most formidable programs.
A Schedule Packed With Tournament Talent
All six opponents earned spots in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, meaning every matchup carries both a challenge and a chance to boost UConn’s résumé early in the season.
Rematches at Madison Square Garden
The Huskies will return to New York’s famed arena for two marquee games. On November 28 they meet Illinois, a team they defeated in the 2024 Elite Eight, and a week later they face Florida on December 9, a rematch of the 2022 NCAA Tournament exit that left the Gators with a bitter taste.
A Road Test in Kansas
The only true away game comes on December 2 when UConn travels to face Kansas, a venue where the Huskies have dropped all four previous meetings, the most recent a 69‑65 loss in 2023.
Earlier in the month the team will test themselves in exhibitions against Boston College and Michigan State before opening the regular season at home against New Haven, UMass Lowell and Columbia.
Geoff Magliocchetti of Huskies Report notes that the schedule is deliberately crafted to shape the entire season, aiming to build an elite résumé and prove the club’s readiness for another championship run.
