Seton Hill University announced this week that Nick Volchok will take the reins of its women’s basketball program, bringing a blend of competitive experience and developmental focus to the position.
A new era for Seton Hill basketball
In his announcement, Volchok expressed deep gratitude to his family, colleagues, current players and the university’s broader community, emphasizing the institution’s distinctive culture and storied tradition as central to his decision.
Volchok’s coaching résumé includes three seasons at Marist College, where he guided the team to a 16‑win campaign and an 11‑win conference slate that more than doubled the previous year’s totals, producing three All‑MAAC selections and two All‑Rookie honorees.
Prior to Marist, he led Iona College to a 2022‑23 MAAC Championship and amassed 43 victories, while his tenure at the Masters School transformed the program into three consecutive NYSAIS State Championship appearances and a 2018‑19 title.
Beyond the bench, Volchok owned and directed the Empire State Basketball Club, a premier youth program in the Northeast, and earlier played professionally in Germany and Italy before returning to the United States to coach at Rockland Community College, where he set a single‑season record for three‑pointers and earned All‑Region and All‑Conference honors.
