A sudden lock‑up of the left‑front tire in the closing laps cost him the lead, allowing Ryan Blaney to claim victory by 0.586 seconds.
Wallace described the handling of his car as ‘really bad’, noting that despite the vehicle’s straight‑line speed, the balance was far from ideal.
Team Penske’s dominance on flat tracks was evident, with Blaney’s win extending the organization’s strong performance on the 1‑mile oval.
The decisive moment came when traffic from Cole Custer’s No. 41 entry forced Wallace to brake abruptly, triggering the tire lock‑up that ended his charge.
