Pacific Men’s Soccer Prepares for a Youthful 2026 Campaign

Coach Brandon Porter emphasizes versatility and work ethic as the team integrates new talent

The Pacific University men's soccer program is gearing up for the 2026 season, entering with a younger lineup after the departure of several senior players who helped shape the team's recent successes.

Head coach Brandon Porter says the squad will continue to embody hard work, organization, versatility and coachability, traits that have defined the team in recent years and that he believes can carry the new roster forward.

A Fresh Roster Emphasizes Versatility

Among the returnees, sophomore goalkeeper Kobi Miyamoto brings a strong defensive record, having earned All‑Northwest Conference recognition and finishing second in the conference for both saves and shutouts last season.

On the offensive side, sophomore forward Cole Affolter is expected to add creativity and finishing power, while junior forward Carter Zeiset, who led the team with five goals in the previous campaign, will look to build on that momentum.

Defensively, sophomore Trenton Zimmermann is highlighted for his size, athleticism and refined skills, positioning him as a cornerstone at the back as the team seeks greater stability.

Coach Porter notes that the conference schedule is unpredictable, but the team is focusing on consistency, preparation and outworking opponents in each match to compete with traditional powers such as Whitman and PLU.

The season opener is set for September 4 at Bushell Stadium, where the Boxers hope to start strong and set the tone for the months ahead.
