The 2025 All-Delco baseball team has been announced, recognizing the region’s most outstanding high school players. From dominant arms to potent bats, the selections reflect a season filled with championship runs, record-breaking performances, and a glimpse of future college stars.
A Pitching Duo to Remember
At the heart of Radnor’s title-winning campaign are brothers Austin and Blake Havertine, who formed a lethal one-two punch on the mound. Austin, a two-time All-Delco selection, posted a microscopic 0.85 ERA and fanned 99 batters, guiding the Raiders to the District 1 Class 5A championship. His younger sibling Blake was equally impressive, finishing 4-0 with a 0.55 ERA and 45 strikeouts in 38 innings, and both brothers capped the summer by helping the Wayne team capture the Delco League championship.
The offensive side of the All-Delco roster reads like a who’s-who of the area’s top hitters. Gavin DiRita of Bonner & Prendergast was named MVP after slashing .482/.571/.607 with 16 RBIs and 12 stolen bases for a 10-11 Friars squad. Zach Murray from Chichester posted a .494 average with 38 hits and 34 RBIs, earning a commitment to Widener University. Cole Lombardo of Garnet Valley combined a .385 average with seven doubles, a triple and two homers, and will continue his career at St. Bonaventure.
Other standout performers include Danny Meakim of Springfield, an All-Central League selection who batted .386 with 28 RBIs and led the Cougars to the PIAA Class 5A quarterfinals, and Ryan Friel, the Daily Times Player of the Year, who posted a .385/.441/.462 line with 11 RBIs and will play at Frederick (Md.) Community College. Jackson Burger from Marple Newtown contributed as a two-way player, hitting .305 with nine extra-base hits and scoring 16 runs, while Braden Davis of Penncrest emerged as one of Delco’s premier sluggers, batting .429 with a 1.248 OPS and 17 RBIs to earn first-team All-Central League honors.
The utility players also made their mark. Nick Corse of Springfield posted a .361 average with a .515 on-base percentage and a 1.043 OPS, committing to Immaculata, while Shane Durkan from Haverford hit .456 with five home runs and 22 RBIs, earning All-Central League recognition. Owen Keough of Springfield added a .386 average, a .440 on-base percentage and 20 runs scored. Finally, Michael Schaffer from Episcopal Academy earned All-Inter-Ac League honors after finishing 3-1 with a 2.70 ERA and throwing a perfect game against Penn Charter.
Beyond individual statistics, the 2025 All-Delco team underscores the depth of talent across the region and the bright futures awaiting many of these players. With college commitments ranging from Widener to St. Bonaventure, from Frederick Community College to Immaculata, the upcoming season promises to carry the momentum forward, building on a foundation of pitching excellence and offensive firepower.
