The maneuver sent his No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet into the wall, ending his run and leaving the car heavily damaged.

Despite the rocky start, Hendrick Motorsports has not abandoned the young driver. The team announced that Zilisch will pilot the iconic No. 48 Chevrolet in 2028, signaling a long‑term investment in his development and a belief that he can eventually translate experience into results.
