Tina Charles, a UConn basketball legend and former WNBA star, is set to unveil her second craft brew, "Sunset" Hazy IPA, at the Mohegan Sun Arena on August 25, 2026.
The new beer, a citrus‑forward IPA clocking in at 6.5% ABV, was inspired by the Connecticut Sun’s signature colors and will be poured during the team’s final home game before the franchise moves to Houston.
A Toast to a Legacy
Charles’ first label, "78‑0", paid homage to UConn’s back‑to‑back undefeated national championships during her junior and senior years, and the debut of "Sunset" continues her tradition of linking sport and craft.
The ceremony will also mark Charles’ induction into the Sun Legends series, with her No. 31 jersey being retired on the same night, underscoring the profound impact she has had on the franchise.
Averaging 16.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game in her final WNBA season, Charles leaves a statistical imprint that matches the boldness of the brew she now presents.
Beyond the glass, the launch celebrates the Sun’s storied history, its loyal fan base, and the coaches and players who have shaped the team’s identity over more than a decade in Connecticut.
For Charles, the project is more than a commercial venture; it is a personal tribute to a career that began in 2010 when she was drafted by the Sun and earned Rookie of the Year honors.
