Disney+ rolls out a full‑throttle college football schedule

From the Aer Lingus Classic to GameDay, the platform is turning Saturdays into a sports marathon

Disney+ is turning its streaming service into a year‑round college football hub. Beginning with the Aer Lingus College Football Classic on Aug. 29, U.S. subscribers will be able to tune into two ESPN/ABC games every Saturday, giving them a regular dose of the sport without leaving the platform.

GameDay makes its comeback

The beloved pre‑game show, College GameDay Built by The Home Depot, will broadcast on Disney+ starting Sept. 5. The partnership brings the familiar studio energy to the streaming interface, letting fans experience the analysis alongside the live contests.

The schedule kicks off with a triple‑header of high‑profile matchups: Oregon State versus Houston on Sept. 5, Alabama taking on Kentucky on Sept. 12, and a showdown between North Carolina and Clemson on Sept. 19. Each game will be streamed in real time, giving viewers front‑row access to the action.

Beyond college football, Disney+ is expanding its sports slate globally, adding live events from the NBA, NHL, WNBA, NWSL, college basketball and tennis. The breadth of coverage reflects a strategy to position the service as a one‑stop destination for major leagues and niche competitions alike.

The ESPN App, integrated with Disney+, enhances the experience with multiview capabilities, a personalized "SportsCenter For You" feed, and seamless links to stats, betting information and merchandise. This blend of content and utility aims to keep fans engaged long after the final whistle.

Disney+ already serves as a gateway to a constellation of brands — including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Hulu — through bundled offerings that also feature ESPN. The expansion of sports content underscores the platform’s ambition to blend entertainment with live athletics under a single subscription.
