Disney+ Launches Weekly College Football Saturdays with ESPN’s GameDay

The streaming service will air two live games each Saturday, starting with North Carolina vs. TCU, as part of a sweeping sports expansion.

Disney+ Introduces Weekly College Football Saturdays

Disney+ will begin offering a new weekly slate of college football on Saturday mornings, delivering two live games to U.S. subscribers starting September 5. The inaugural matchup will showcase North Carolina versus TCU, setting the stage for a season of back‑to‑back contests that can be streamed alongside the network’s signature pre‑game analysis.

Central to the rollout is the return of College GameDay, the Emmy‑winning pre‑game program that will air on Disney+ from 9 a.m. to noon Eastern Time each Saturday. The show’s season‑opening episode will broadcast live from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, just before the Clemson versus LSU showdown, and will mark the 500th road appearance of the series.

GameDay Returns to the Road

All of the College Football Saturdays programming will also be available through the ESPN App, ensuring that fans can switch seamlessly between platforms without missing any of the action. This initiative expands Disney+’s live‑sports portfolio, which already includes more than 75 events across the NBA, NHL, WNBA, NWSL, college basketball, tennis and other leagues.

The expansion underscores Disney’s broader strategy of consolidating premium sports rights under a single streaming destination while leveraging its partnership with ESPN. In December 2024, the company introduced ESPN on Disney+, adding studio offerings such as The Rich Eisen Show and original series like SportsCenter+ and Vibe Check to the mix.
