Arkansas football head coach Ryan Silverfield has announced a sweeping revamp of the program’s tradition‑focused strategy, aiming to reconnect the current roster with the rich legacy of the Razorbacks.
The initiative brings back iconic figures such as former head coach Houston Nutt and NFL running back Darren McFadden for practice sessions, while also enlisting former player Brey Cook as the program’s Manager of Alumni and High School Relations.
Starting this season, alumni will be invited to campus on Friday nights before home games to share stories, fostering a stronger sense of community among former players and supporters.
Honoring the Past
Silverfield emphasizes the importance of Arkansas football’s history, scheduling regular sessions that spotlight legendary coaches like Frank Broyles and celebrate the contributions of past players, including Peyton Hillis and Felix Jones.
The first alumni engagement event is set for September 5, just before the Razorbacks open their season against North Alabama, marking a symbolic start to the new tradition.
